Sculptra Fort Lauderdale

What Is A Sculptra Aesthetic?
Sculptra Aesthetic is the only poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) dermal filler that stimulates your body to create more collagen in the skin. Sculptra helps to restore collagen for a natural and more youthful appearance. This helps correct fine lines and facial wrinkles in areas such as the marionette lines, nasolabial folds, cheeks, chin, and temples. It is FDA approved as a facial injectable, but it is also used off label for the Sculptra Butt Lift procedure. Sculptra also provides long-lasting natural results for over 2 years.
When Do We Start Losing Collagen In Our Skin?
Collagen makes up 70% of the skin and acts to give skin support and its shape. As we age, we lose collagen by about 1% each year after the age of 18. By age 50, we may have lost up to 30% of the collagen in our skin. This reduces the ability of the skin to maintain elasticity and moisture.
Genetics and natural aging factors play a role in collagen loss. Other factors that play a role in collagen loss include lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, stress, pollution, smoking, and sugar consumption.
What To Expect With Your Sculptra Aesthetic Injection Treatment
In your initial cosmetic consultation with Dr. Miguel Villacorta, we will discuss the risks and benefits of Sculptra and whether Sculptra is the best treatment for your cosmetic goals. A date will be scheduled for your treatment as Sculptra needs to be prepared a few days in advance.
On the day of your treatment, we will take before and after photos and clean and numb your face. Dr. Villacorta will then inject various syringes of Sculptra to achieve optimal results. We will give you an ice pack to help with any swelling. You will need to massage your face for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for the next 5 days.
With Sculptra, don't expect immediate results. This is where slow and steady wins the race. Sculptra stimulates your own skin's collagen over the next 2 months to give you a natural and youthful appearance.
After 2 months, you will follow up with Dr. Villacorta to see your progress. Most patients require another vial or two at this follow up to achieve optimal results. Sculptra lasts over two years, but most patients come in annually for a touchup for maintenance.

Sculptra Frequently Asked Questions
Sculptra provides the most natural-looking results for facial rejuvenation with fillers. It should be used in patients who are healthy and who do not have a history of allergic reactions to Sculptra. Sculptra should not be injected into patients that are pregnant, lactating, or breastfeeding. You should also avoid Sculptra if you have a history of keloid formation or have a history of autoimmune disease.
For optimal results, Sculptra should only be injected by a trained board-certified physician.
Sculptra is one of the longer-lasting dermal fillers on the market. Multiple vials with treatments spaced apart may be required for optimal results. Still, the effects of Sculptra last for over 2 years.
Like other dermal fillers, Sculptra can cause swelling at the injection sites, tenderness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching, redness, and lumps. Most side effects are not severe and in the clinical study, resolved in 7 days or less. After your injection, you'll be instructed to massage the surgical sites for 5 days to reduce the risk of lumps forming.
