EDUCATION

Dr. Miguel Villacorta is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

He graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine with a joint degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a Masters in Public Health in 2015.

He completed his residency in dermatology in 2019 at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

EXPERIENCE

Before entering medicine, Dr. Villacorta completed an electrical engineering degree from the University of Miami in 2004.

His first job was as an engineer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where he assisted with the space shuttle launches of STS-104 and STS-105 in 2001.

He also has experience working for a Fortune 50 company as an industrial engineering supervisor at UPS. At UPS, he worked with the team responsible for designing cost-saving measures, implementing the modern package delivery routing system, and forecasting package volume and driver allocation for the South Florida district.

Afterward, he was the Director of Business Development for JET Group Inc., an aviation maintenance organization focused on commercial line maintenance and crew seat overhaul repair. Through his efforts, he was able to modernize the HR operation and help it grow from two airports to eleven airports across the United States. During his employment, the Inc 5000 award was given to JET Group, Inc for two consecutive years.

A model that focuses on precision, accountability, quality, and most importantly, on the patient and their needs.

Dr. Miguel Villacorta was born and raised in South Florida and spent his summers growing up with family in northern Spain. His family hometown is a small rural town of just 200 people in the province of Leon, Spain. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. He enjoys traveling and has lived for a short time in Australia. When he isn’t at work he is spending time with his wife and two daughters.
