Conditions We Treat

Medical Dermatology

Dermatologists are trained to diagnose and treat over 3000 conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. At Galt Dermatology we provide medical dermatology services for both adults and children of all ages.

Conditions such as acne, birthmarks, dermatitis, warts, vitiligo, eczema, and insect bites are common conditions seen in children. Adults commonly have other conditions such as skin cancers, precancers, rosacea, psoriasis and shingles.

We provide longer and relaxed visits to provide full body skin exams and give patients the opportunity to address all their concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What insurances do you take?

We are considered out of network for all insurances giving our patients the freedom to choose any physician they want.

In addition, we have partnered with Babinski Dermatology, which is conveniently located at our office to provide dermatology services for patients covered by Medicare. We kindly ask that you call the office at 954-463-5406 to schedule an appointment and inform our staff that you are covered by Medicare.

Can I use my insurance for prescriptions with direct care?

Yes, you can still use your health insurance for prescriptions at your pharmacy.

We try to prescribe generics as much as possible. That being said even some generic medications have increased dramatically in price. If that is the case, we will work to find alternatives medications or pharmacies to assist you.

You don't charge for biopsies but what about lab pathology fees?

We have negotiated a special rate with the pathology lab for $55 per specimen. We collect this fee on behalf of the patient and pay the lab directly so patients shouldn’t receive another bill.

If you wish to use your commercial insurance for laboratory fees then please inform the office at the time of your visit. Keep in mind that depending on your insurance the commercial insurance rate may be higher than our negotiated rate.

When is payment due for service?

Payment is due at checkout for all medical, cosmetic, and surgical visits. We accept all credit, Health Savings Account (HSA), and Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) cards. We will store credit card information in our secure processing system at the time of booking. Charges will be applied for no-shows and cosmetic and surgical deposits. HSA and FSA cards must be used for non-cosmetic services. Some procedures may require a deposit at the time of booking.

I'm a new patient, do I need to do anything prior to my appointment?

All new patients require a consultation (30-minute visit) to review medical history and to receive a full skin examination. During your initial visit, you may inquire about any dermatologic, skin care, or cosmetic concerns you might have. Certain appointments such as surgical and cosmetic procedures will require a deposit to reserve your appointment.

Will I see the physician or a nurse practioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) during my visit?

We believe that you should be seen by a board certified physician at each visit. Our practice does not employ any physician assistants or nurse practitioners.

Can I still be reimbursed by my insurance company or could the fees be appllied to my deductible?

If you wish to file a claim for your visit through your health insurance then please inform our staff at the time of your visit. Depending on your insurance, your visit may be covered as an out of network visit. We charge a small $25 fee for our time to code your visit and file a claim on your behalf. If the claim is accepted by your insurance then all or some of the charges may get reimbursed directly to you. You should also receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) in the mail from your insurance company.
